BluLub is a UHMW-PE polyethylene that has a molecular density of 9,200,000 g/mol, operates easily in temperatures ranging from -40 to +176oF, and complies with the FDA Code of Federal Regulations. This, of course, makes for a superior UHMW compound, ideal for systems and applications that require higher speeds, better wear characteristics, and improved performance and dependability, such as high-wear curve installations in conveyor chain applications.
BluLub’s coefficient of friction is less than half that of traditional UHMW compounds—as a result, it requires significantly less energy for a variety of high-friction, high-wear applications such as bottling industry neck guides, guide rails, belt side guides, and other extruded conveyor system components.
Dry lubricants, such as those used in the manufacture of BluLub from Movex, reduce friction while in a solid state, which is critical for many food and pharmaceutical processing operations that can be contaminated by liquid- or oil-based lubricants.
Dry lubricants are also ideal for high-speed and/or high-wear operations which require more frequent reapplication of non-solid lubricants. Eliminating or reducing regular, periodic lubrication through the use of dry-lubricant UHMW materials can also save system operators maintenance time and money.
